Mariela Miranda van Iersel

Mariela Miranda is a social scientist, economist and researcher dedicated to initiatives focused on creating and enabling positive societal impact. She is currently working as an Impact Project Officer & Researcher at the Evaluating Societal Impact team of Erasmus University Rotterdam, in The Netherlands. This team represents a university-wide strategic effort to support the transition towards an impact-driven and engaged organization. Previously, she worked at the Division for Gender Affairs of the United Nations Economic Commission for Latin America and the Caribbean (ECLAC) in Santiago, Chile. She holds a master’s degree in International Development Studies from the International Institute of Social Studies, where she received the Best Research Paper Award of her academic year. Main research interests include societal impact, social & development policy, gender economics, and migration & (im)mobility.
