Title

“Bioenergy Promotion: Energy Security and Sustainability Issues”

Abstract

The presentation will introduce the global, regional and Thai perspectives on greenhouse gas emissions, energy security and resource sustainability according to the Paris Agreement and global Agreement on Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs 2016-2030).  A case study of Bioenergy promotion policy and sustainability assessment of Bioenergy supply chains, both bioethanol and biodiesel from agricultural products, with the involvement of NSTDA (at Thailand Science Park) and its key partners from public and private sectors will be illustrated.  There are a number of technical, institutional, and socioeconomic challenges to realise opportunities on a wider scale which is critical to ensuring the positive impacts at each point along the various supply chains.  The current standing in term of innovation, technologies and sustainability as per national context and our commitment to the Paris Agreement and global Agreement on SDGs will also be highlighted.
