Yoshinori Aoki is a seasoned investment professional and Senior Advisor at Nocturne Capital, a Tsukuba-based seed venture capital firm in Japan. Nocturne invests in startups and ensures their success by connecting them with essential management talent. The firm is developing leadership programs, offering management training and startup internships for emerging business leaders.
His career spans extensive experience in startup investment and fund management, including his role as Partner at Global Brain (GB), one of Japan’s largest independent venture capital firms. At GB, he managed several venture funds and invested in startups across Japan, the US, and Asia.
He also brings leadership experience from global firms like PwC and EY. As Partner and a leadership team member at PwC Japan, he advised on startup investment and Corporate Venture Capital (CVC) fund management for major clients. At EY Japan, he was Managing Director and Partner, co-leading EY Startup Innovation, an initiative for comprehensive startup services.
He holds a Ph.D. in Computer Science from Kyushu University.
