Dr. Janekrishna Kanatharana currently serves as the Deputy Secretary-General for Innovation and Sustainable Development at The Federation of Thai Industries (FTI). Prior to this appointment in August 2024, he held a nearly 20-year tenure at the National Science and Technology Development Agency (NSTDA) from 2004 to 2023. During his time at NSTDA, he served in multiple leadership capacities, including Executive Vice President for Industry and Community Engagement, Executive Director for the Eastern Economic Corridor of Innovation (EECi), and Director of the Thailand Science Park.
His professional background includes experience in the private sector as Director of Operations and Supply Chain at Wonderworld Products Co., Ltd., and as a Structural Engineering Consultant at Chachawal-De Weger International Co., Ltd. Dr. Kanatharana had held significant roles in international organizations, such as President of the Asia Pacific Division of the International Association of Science and Technology Parks and Areas of Innovation (IASP) and member of the Steering Committee for the High Level Forum (HLF). He holds a Ph.D. and M.S. in Civil Engineering from Lehigh University, USA, and a B.E. in Civil Engineering from Chulalongkorn University, Thailand.
