Biography
Mrs Ikram MAKNI, is currently serving as CEO of the Sfax Business Center(SBC), and the General Director of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of the Region.
She Founded the SBC Sfax Business Center in a partnership between the public and private sector. The SBC’s objectives are to assure investment promotion and Assistance to the young entrepreneurs .
She initiated an entrepreneurship Academy, and several tools to help young entrepreneurs create their projects: from identification of the project idea to the creation of the enterprise and accompaniment five years after the creation. Mrs Makni founded the trade fair for entrepreneurship(2008), an annual RDV to raise awareness about entrepreneurship, and change the attitudes of the youngsters, The trade fair is a Carrefour of opportunities to promote innovative ideas, businesses to franchise, etc..
She initiated many other events to help the young entrepreneurs identify business opportunities such as a road show in the small localities in the rural areas, regional network to assist them solve administrative problems, regional network for business opportunities and enterprise transmission, regional network to help finance the projects, and the fourth network is the business consultants and experts. Lastly she created the Tunisian Academy for Franchising, an Institution to boost creation and development of Tunisian Brands
She occupied several functions at the Sfax Chamber of Commerce and Industry in different sectors as information & public relations, training, events, international relations.
She developed many programs in response to needs of the Enterprise in Sfax, such as the Mediterranean Trade Fair for Building and Construction- MEDIBAT, ENERGY and Gas show, International contracts in collaboration of CCI, led several trade missions to India, USA, France, Italy, Spain, Austria, Munich, Morocco, Jordan, Egypt, Bahrein, Abou Dhabi, Doha, ….
Nominated by Minister of Commerce as a member of stirring committee to develop an upgrading national program for Tunisian Chambers of commerce and Industry- A program initiated by European Union.
Mrs Makni has an experience in the associative field she served as member of the Parliament, she was member of International Festival of Sfax and Cultural Council of the City, President of the Economic Forum of Sfax , served as Deputy Mayor of Sfax , President of international relations and municipal cooperation, she founded two friendship associations: Sfax-Marlburg and Sfax- Grenoble. She also is the Founder of Innovation Technology Association( AIT ), she was a member of the SDGS committee( Development Strategy of Bigger Sfax ), and a member of Board of Biotechnology Research Center, she is also member of Engineering School of Electronics an Telecom .
