Jean-Michel Goiran joined CEATech in 2013 as a strategic account manager and cross-technology team manager. With a wide background in home automation, microelectronics, telecommunication and digital TV, he aggregated in this applied research center the key technologies that are fuelling the digital transition in the smartbuilding, Industry 4.0 or supply chain revolution.
He is now deputy director of the Technology transfer unit of CEA that heads the contract, licensing, startup program, marketing and Economical Intelligence teams.
After beginning his career in the French navy, he worked for Apple Computer Europe in the high-speed modems field. He joined then Schneider Electric’s low voltage division in 1995, where he was responsible for wireless communication technologies both for product development and standardization. In 1999, J-M Goiran moved to STMicroelectronics’ Home Video division, focusing on DVD and STB applications. In that role he led application projects and silicon product introduction. In 2007, he was promoted to lead ST’s IP-STB business development team and developed deep expertise in the digital TV market worldwide. He is a graduate of Telecom ParisTech, where he studied telecommunication, electronics and computer science.
