Simon Perraud holds a Master of Science from ESPCI Paris (2004), a Ph.D. in Physics from Sorbonne Université (2007), and a Habilitation degree from Université Grenoble Alpes (2013). He was a doctoral researcher at NTT Basic Research Laboratories in Japan from 2004 to 2007, in the field of semiconductor physics. He joined CEA, the French Alternative Energies and Atomic Energy Commission, in 2008. He is currently deputy director at Liten, a research institute of CEA with about 1,000 staff developing innovative technologies for the energy transition (photovoltaics, batteries, hydrogen and other low-carbon fuels, energy systems, advanced materials). He is also a member of the executive board at BEPA, the Batteries European Partnership Association.
