Damien Valet, Innovation Impact Expert at CEA, helps organizations steer the energy and ecologic transition with rigorous assessments of environmental and societal impacts, and is a frequent speaker on the purpose and consequences of innovation. As CEA’s regional energy referent for Occitanie, he launched and led the TOTEM platform in Toulouse and built strategic R&D partnerships across the region.
Upon joining CEA in 2010, Damien created and ran the battery and hydrogen platform in Grenoble—including a 1,500 m² pre-industrial pilot line—and managed multidisciplinary engineering teams. Earlier, he headed a design office at Saft for rail and aerospace battery systems and began his career in research at Faurecia designing innovative exhaust systems. He holds an engineering degree from ENSPS (now Télécom Physique Strasbourg) and a Master in mechanics.
