David Weng is recognized as a seasoned angel and venture investor with a proven track record of bringing startups to successful IPO, M&A. He focuses primarily on early-stage investments in the Internet, enterprise software, wireless, cyber security, and rapidly-growing technology companies.
He has invested in about 80 early-stage high technology companies. Some of the more notable successes include the NetScreen Technologies IPO and its acquisition by Juniper Networks for US$4 billion, and Protego Networks’ acquisition by Cisco Systems.
Prior to his investment projects, David served as Software Engineering Director at Cisco Systems and at Hewlett-Packard before that. He actively participated in M&A activities during Cisco fast-growing time in the ’90s and has over 20 years of experience in software engineering and Internet technologies.
