Francine Papillon has been the Head of the GIANT Programmes Department at the CEA Grenoble since 2013 and the Coordinator of the GIANT Executive Committee since 2017. After starting her career in 1997 at the Metallurgy Research Department at CEA Saclay, she was then appointed at the Nuclear Fuel Cycle Division in Cadarache (1998-2001). From 2001 to 2008, she worked at Carnegie Mellon (Pittsburgh, USA) as a researcher and as the Associate Director of the CMU Materials Research Sciences and Engineering Center (MRSEC). Back in Grenoble in 2008, she took part in the creation of education, research and industry cross disciplinary programmes within the MINATEC division and joined the GIANT team in 2012. Francine Papillon hold an engineering degree in civil engineering and a PhD in metallurgy and materials science.
