After a PhD in Political Science from Lund university specializing in research policy and university governance, Fredrik Melander became a Senior Advisor at the Danish Ministry for Higher Education and Research working mainly with the European Spallation Souce (ESS) project, but also with the Danish memberships in ESRF and ILL.
Strong of this experience, he then became Head of Department and Senior Advisory at the Nordic Council of Minister, responsible for Nordic Governmental research collaboration.
Fredrik is now head of R&D-Relations at Science Village Scandinavia AB in Lund. This village has been tasked with developing an upscaled Science Center in Lund, aiming to open in 2024, and with the goal is to exhibit science and innovations spawned out of Lund and Skåne.
