Dr. Laura Wendling leads a research team focused on technological innovation for enhanced future sustainability and resilience to impacts of climate change. Climate smart cities use a systems approach to address climate mitigation and adaptation, seeking to understand connections and interdependencies within the urban social-ecological-technical-economic-political ecosystem. Dr. Wendling’s research addresses knowledge deficits and uncertainties to foster the development and implementation of cross-sectoral strategies that integrate social, technological, digital, business, governance and environmental solutions to build climate resilience.
