From November 17 to 19, Taiwan hosted the HLF Summit for the first time. The event gathered representatives from 21 countries, with over 400 onsite attendees and 1,800 online viewers for the opening session streamed on YouTube. The summit kicked off with an impressive opening ceremony and high-level keynote speeches to set the stage for the discussions.

Under the theme “Innovation Ecosystems for a Resilient Society,” discussions centered on three key topics: Resilient supply chains, Societal impact and Attracting and retaining talent.

A special session spotlighted startups, featuring a roundtable discussion with VCs and experts, as well as a pitch competition where innovative solutions to global challenges were showcased.

The summit also emphasized how cutting-edge technologies, such as semiconductors and artificial intelligence, can help build a more resilient society.

Participants were treated to a vibrant fusion of culture and technology through performances by Artists in Residence at ITRI and the One Song Orchestra, highlighting the creative potential of Generative AI.

The GIANT Innovation Campus delegation was well represented with 16 participants, including leaders such as Julie Galland (CEA), co-chair of this edition with Stephen SU, Yassine Lakhnech (UGA), Fouziya Bouzerda (GEM), Vivian Quéma (G-INP), Tracey Culloty (EMBL), Nicolas Béroud (Invest in Grenoble Alpes), and Thierry Bouchet (WISE-Integration).

GIANT members actively participated in key roundtables on social impact, talent development, and startups, showcasing the strengths of the Grenoble innovation ecosystem.

The summit also featured the presence of Franck Paris, Director of the French Office in Taipei, who expressed his commitment to strengthening the ties between Taiwan, France, and particularly Grenoble.
