🇧🇪 “Why is Leuven so special?” is the opening quote of this video. Well, we weren’t alone with this idea… because we still are the current Europe’s Capital of Innovation.
The prestigious award from European Commission rewards the city that makes the best use of innovation to improve the quality of life of its inhabitants.
“Together with Leuven 2030 and Leuven MindGate, the city of Leuven submitted a dossier to the European Commission for the European Capital of Innovation Award. And we won!”
Day 2
Let’s go for the second day in Leuven MindGate, where we heard about a company that produces ultra-fast PCR tests.
🇧🇪 “Despite the progress in global vaccination programs, it will still take quite some time before herd immunity will be achieved worldwide, and ongoing virus mutations and new variants pose major challenges to the vaccination process. Therefore, Leuven-based health tech company miDiagnostics designed a ultra fast PCR test. The test has the potential to achieve an excellent accuracy at a speed 20 times faster than ‘classic’ lab-based PCR tests. “
